The reason that the sales figures for Sweden are lower than those for Finland, Norway and Germany is our company has launched extensive advertising campaigns in Finland, Norway and Germany, but not in Sweden. Next year we will launch an extensive advertising campaign in Sweden. However, the situation is Sweden is more complicated than the situations of the aforementioned countries because of extremely strict advertising regulations in that country. To be honest, I don’t think we should expect the same kind of success in Sweden that we’ve seen in the other countries. Cordially, Patricia Porter Patricia Porter, Sales Manager FAX TRANSMISSION TO: Patricia Porter FROM: Nicholas Poulos DATE: October 11 RE: Sales Figures I understand your concern about the situation in Sweden. Needless to say, I’m disappointed with the sales figures in Sweden. One marketing researcher at our company has tried to persuade me to stop conducting business in Sweden because of the difficulties created by strict advertising regulations. While I admit that there are problems, I don’t agree that they cannot be solved. I’ve reviewed various new proposals for increasing sales in Sweden, and feel that we should do a feasibility study before adopting them. What does Mr. Poulos imply
A. Pulling out of the Sweden market is a possibility. B. He will wait until the advertising campaign starts next year. C. Ms. Porter reached a premature conclusion. D. The company should cope with strict advertising regulations.
