The telephone rang and Linda answered it. "May I speak to Mrs. Lin, please" a man asked.
"I’m afraid you’ve got the wrong number," Linda said. "I’m sorry," the man said.
A few minutes passed and the telephone rang again. When Linda answered it, she found it was the same man. He had made a mistake again. Three minutes later the telephone rang once more, but Linda didn’t answer it this time.
It rang and rang. Her mother heard the ringing. "Why don’t you answer the telephone, Linda" she called. "Oh, all right," Linda said, "I’m sure it’s that man again." But she found she was wrong this time after answering the telephone. It was her father, and he was very angry that Linda had kept him waiting so long.
