The International Olympic Committee chose a doctor from
Belgium as its (36) Jacques Rogge will serve at least eight
years. He replaced Juan Antonio Samaranch of Spain who served as president for

meeting in Moscow. He has worked for many years with the International Olympic
Committee. He is fifty-nine years old. Observers called the
