填空题

Dear Mr. Adrain Johnson,
We ate in receipt of your letter of 30 July complaining about the chinaware shipped to you by sea.
We are very regretful to learn that nearly half of the chinaware were broken and seriously damaged when they reached you. We have looked into the matter in our records and could only find that the goods in question were in perfect condition when they left here. Therefore, the dam- age you complained about must have been caused by some fault on the part of the shipping company. Under such circumstances, we would advise you to file your claim with them for your loss.
However, if requested, we shall be glad to approach the shipping company on your behalf with a view to recover damages from them as soon as possible.
Nevertheless, we thank you for bringing this to our attention.
Yours faithfully,
Thomas Adams
