Ten years after the birth of the world’s first cloned (克隆) animal, Dolly the Sheep, America appears to become the world’s first country to introduce meat and mild form cloned cattle. Last week, the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA), which oversees food safety, announced that the cloned products were safe to eat and could be put on the market. However, Americans remain considerably uneasy about eating cloned food. A national poll last year found 64 percent of Americans uncomfortable with the idea of eating cloned food. It is estimated that there are already several hundred cattle among America’s 9 million that have been cloned. The FDA will accept comments from the public for the next three months before announcing its final decision. What will the FDA do before announcing its final decision______.
