Growth Rates In Service MileageThis graph provides the comparison of the growth rates in service mileage among Rail- way, Road and Civil Aviation. In 1978, Road led the other two in service mileage by absolute superiority; however, the interval of a decade (1978--1997) didn’t witness much change in its growth (the growth margin was 30 %). In contrast to road transport, non- stop and sharp advance in Civil Aviation can be seen from the graph. In 1978, Civil Aviation was only a dwarf against Road; by the end of 1978,Civil Aviation was only a dwarf against Road; by the end of 1997, however, it had beaten its rival (the growth rate should be 120 % ). Another transport means needs our attention, too--it is Railway. Unfortunately, the growth rate in its service mileage almost remained unchanged during the decade.
