A trio of colorful fall events gets underway in October with a horse and wagon ride  (141)  High Park from Grenadier Café to Colborne Lodge.

Ages three and up. Oct. 1. Free. When the sun sets, brave the Haunted High Park tour, a moonlit stroll set to the eerie tales of old Chicago. Pre-registration is required.
Ages eight and up. Oct. 27 and 28. Adults $10, ages eight and up $5. The playground in the northwest corner of the park becomes pumpkin carving center, when creations are set adrift on the water  (143)  the annual High Park Pumpkin Float. Warm up afterward with some hot cider and storytelling. Ages two to 10. Oct. 29. $2 per pumpkin.
