Directions: In this section you will hear a recorded
short passage. The passage is printed in the test paper, but with some words or
phrases missing. The passage will be read three times. During the second
reading, you are required to put the missing words or phrases on the Answer
Sheet in order of the numbered blanks according to what you hear. The third
reading is for you to check your writing. Now the passage will
begin.
Suppose you want to buy a house. It is
important to look (11) before you buy a house. First, decide
how many rooms you want. Then decide where you want to live—in the country, in
the suburb, or in the town or city. Do you want a (12) house
or a two-family/ house Do you want a walk-up or apartment building with an
elevator Do you want to live in an apartment (13) where
there are many families After you answer all these questions, go out and look.
Don’t be (14) if you don’t find something immediately. Maybe
the house or apartment is not (15) the price, or maybe the
rooms are too small. You can decide for yourself.
