The Honolulu beach used to be a lot less crowded 30 years ago. In those days, you could walk along here and not (36) into people every couple of feet. And then the tourists started coming—more and more every year. That’s when they began to build all those hotels here—each one bigger than the next. (44) Of course, tourist money ’meant more jobs, but it also meant more roads, more ears ,more pollution, and higher prices. (45) Did you know that we have the highest food prices in the U. S.
