The diamond was then cut into nine smaller jewels, which are now part of the British crown jewels. These jewels belong to the British government and are kept in the Tower of London.Most people think of diamonds in connection with jewellery and other types of decoration. Between 1885 and 1917, the Russian jeweller Peter Carl Fabergé made a number of decorated Easter eggs for the tsars of Russia and their families. The most valuable Fabergé egg to date was sold in 2007 by Christie s Auction House in Geneva, Switzerland, for $18.5 million.
