Thank you for your fax of July 11 enclosing your order for 8,000 meters of Smooth Brand silk.
Although we appreciate your efforts in pushing the sale of our products, we very much regret that we are unable to supply you with the desired article any longer. Fashions constantly change and in recent years the demand for such kind of silk has fallen to such an extent that we have ceased to produce it.
However, we would like to take this opportunity to recommend an excellent substitute, our new Moonlight Brand silk, which is ’the same in quality, but 10% lower in price. The large num bet of orders we have received from leading distributors and dress manufacturers is a good evidence of the popularity of this brand. We are sure that it will sell fast in your country as well.
