Guided Tours of United Nations Headquarters include an
explanation of the aims, structure and activities of the United Nations. Tours
leave approximately every 20 minutes seven days a week, from 9:00 a. m. until
4:45 p.m. Fees charged are used to cover the expense of the Visitors’ Service
operation. Children under 5 years of age are not admitted on tours.
Official Meetings of United Nations bodies are open to the public. Tickets
are distributed free of charge at the Information Desk in the Lobby of the
General Assembly (联合国大会大厅) building on a first-come, first-served basis.
Meetings are rarely held on Saturdays and Sundays. Meetings may be scheduled or
cancelled on short notice: tickets for specific meeting cannot be
guaranteed. United Nations Films are offered to visitors Monday
through Friday, free of charge, subject to the availability of a conference
room. The Delegates’ Dining Room is open for luncheon (工作午餐)
Monday through Friday. For reservations and details, inquire at the Information
Desk. The Public Hall is located one level below the General
Assembly Lobby. Guided tours stop here. Public telephones, water fountains (饮水处)
