In this section you will hear a mini-lecture. You will hear the lecture ONCE ONLY. While listening, take notes on the important points. Your notes will not be marked, but you will need them to complete a gap-filling task after the mini-lecture. Language Families
All of the languages within a language family are (1) and all of them have a similar history. Let’s take a brief look at some of the largest language families.
English has become a world language because of its establishment as a (2) outside England.
